TaxFort is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your data and the sensitive financial information of your clients. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our tax document storage platform.
1. Information We Collect
Documents you upload: Tax returns, W-2s, 1099s, bank statements, receipts, engagement letters, workpapers, and other financial records.
Metadata: File names, upload dates, versions, folder structure, and AI-generated categorization.
Account information: Email address, company name, taxpayer UUIDs, and authorized accounting firm relationships.
Usage data: Access logs, IP addresses, and actions performed through our secure gateways.
We do NOT sell your data or your clients’ data to third parties.

All documents are stored on Backblaze B2 with AES-256 encryption at rest. Data in transit is protected by TLS 1.3.
WORM Compliance
Final documents are stored in Compliance-mode Object Lock (WORM) with a default 10-year retention period. Once locked, these files cannot be modified or deleted by anyone — including us.4. Data Sharing
We share documents only with the specific accounting firms or users you explicitly authorize. Accounting firms receive strictly limited access keys that restrict them to only the clients they are invited to.

Download or export your documents at any time.
Correction
Request correction or replacement of Source documents.
Revocation
Revoke accounting firm access instantly.
Deletion
Request deletion of non-locked documents where permitted.
For California residents and other applicable privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA, etc.), we honor all required rights requests.
